Lee's Summit offers a charming escape for cyclists of all levels. From easy cruises to nature-filled adventures, the City provides plenty of opportunities to experience the outdoors. So, pack your helmet, grab your bike and get ready to explore!

 

 

 

Pedal to the Stadiums

Kick off your weekend with a leisure ride along the Rock Island Trail. Hit the trailhead at Charles David Hartman Memorial Park. This paved path, perfect for beginners, takes you directly to the iconic Kauffman and Arrowhead stadiums. Enjoy soaking up the sights or catch a game. This 23-mile roundtrip ride takes approximately two hours, leaving plenty of time to explore the stadiums or grab a bite.

Cycle the Scenic Loop at James A. Reed

Interested in catching a glimpse of wildlife while you ride? James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area boasts a 3-mile paved loop, ideal for cyclists seeking a peaceful ride in nature. 

Ample parking options make it easy to access and begin your exploration. To explore further, extend your trip by parking at Charles David Hartman Memorial Park and cycling to the wildlife area.

Take a Day Trip to Sedalia

For seasoned cyclists seeking a challenge, Lee's Summit offers a unique day trip opportunity to Sedalia. Starting at Charles David Hartman Memorial Park, embark on a journey southeast along the Rock Island Trail. After reaching Windsor, approximately 61 miles away, transition onto the Katy Trail for another 20 miles. This route takes roughly 6.5 hours to complete.

Unwind after your ride and board the Missouri River Runner train at the Sedalia station. This train operates daily between St. Louis and Kansas City and accommodates bicycles with designated storage racks. Purchase your tickets with a "Lee's Summit" (LEE) destination and enjoy a relaxing return trip to end your adventure.
